Upcoming Adjustments to N.C. 105 Bridge Project Schedule in Watauga County
In a recent update concerning the N.C. 105 bridge project in Watauga County, the N.C. Department of Transportation has announced changes to the construction schedule for the upcoming week. The adjustments are aimed at minimizing disruptions for motorists while maintaining progress on the project.
Next week, crews will refrain from halting traffic, a shift from previous weeks where traffic stoppages were more frequent. However, flaggers might be deployed at the start of the week to aid trucks entering and exiting the work zone.
From July 1 to July 3, Wright Brother’s Construction Company Inc. will be actively transporting rock and debris in large trucks from the slopes adjacent to the roadway. This operation is part of the ongoing efforts to maintain the project’s timeline.
Simultaneously, Blue Ridge Electric crews are set to begin relocating power lines, a task that might result in brief traffic stoppages or flagging. These interruptions are expected to be minimal, ensuring a smoother flow of vehicles through the area.
Construction activities will pause starting July 4 for the holiday period, allowing for uninterrupted holiday travel, and will resume the following week.
Drivers approaching the work zone are advised to exercise caution and check DriveNC.gov for the latest traffic information.
