Villanova University Honors Tracy S. Brala with Prestigious Alumni Medal
VILLANOVA, Pa. (July 2, 2026) – Tracy Setlock Brala, an alumna from the class of 1990 at the Villanova School of Business, has been selected by the Villanova University Alumni Association (VUAA) as the recipient of the 2026 St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal. This prestigious award is the highest honor given by the VUAA, recognizing alumni who provide exceptional service and embody the values of St. Thomas of Villanova.
Tracy Brala’s connection with Villanova University began during her undergraduate years, where she was notably active. She served as the captain of the Swimming and Diving team, was a member of the Blue Key Society, and participated as a New Student Orientation Counselor. Her involvement continued post-graduation as she became a mentor and supported various University advisory boards.
“Tracy embodies the very best of what it means to be a Villanovan,” said Sheila Doherty P ’23, ’25, Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations. “For decades, she has generously shared her time, talent and resources in service to the University and its students. Whether as a mentor, volunteer leader, philanthropist or advocate, Tracy has consistently strengthened our community and inspired others to do the same. She is exceptionally deserving of the St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal for her unwavering commitment to Villanova and her extraordinary service to the University community.”
In addition to her dedication to service, Tracy Brala has made significant philanthropic contributions to Villanova. Along with her husband Patrick, who is also an alumnus, they established the Brala Family Endowed Scholarship and the Brala Family Scholarship. These initiatives specifically support student-athletes on the Women’s Swimming & Diving Team who are involved in diving.
Tracy Brala’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Professionally, she holds the position of Senior Vice President of Ecosystem Engagement at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia. Her role involves leading marketing efforts, enhancing customer experience, and promoting advancement. She also founded Venture Café Philadelphia, a collaborative network aimed at fostering innovation across various sectors.
“I have been blessed by this community in ways I could never fully repay,” Tracy expressed. “Villanova shaped not just my career, but my character—and the Augustinian call to love boldly, seek truth fearlessly and build unity across differences has never felt more urgent or more personal. To receive this medal is to be reminded of my deepest obligation: to keep showing up, keep giving back and keep the flame alive for the next generation of Villanovans.”
Tracy Brala resides in Villanova, Pennsylvania, with her husband Patrick, and they are parents to two adult children. The VUAA will formally present the St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal to Tracy during the Homecoming Weekend 2026, celebrating her remarkable service and lasting impact on the Villanova community.
