UVA Achieves Top Rankings in Princeton Review’s 2027 Best Value List

UVA Excels in The Princeton Review’s Latest Rankings

The University of Virginia (UVA) continues to demonstrate its academic prowess and commitment to student success, securing top spots in The Princeton Review’s 2027 Best Value rankings. The university’s impressive standings underscore its reputation for providing excellent education and career opportunities at an affordable cost.

  • Best Value Colleges Without Aid (Public Schools): No. 4
  • Best Career Placement (Public Schools): No. 4
  • Best Schools for Making a Public Impact (Public Schools): No. 8
  • Best Alumni Networks (Public Schools): No. 9

UVA’s No. 8 ranking in the “making a public impact” category reflects its strong focus on community service, student government involvement, sustainability initiatives, and active campus engagement. These rankings are informed by student feedback on these crucial aspects of university life.

The 2027 Best Value rankings by The Princeton Review leverage over 40 data points from both institutional and student surveys, complemented by federal career and salary statistics. This comprehensive approach ensures an accurate representation of the quality and affordability of the education provided by these institutions.

“We highly recommend the schools on our Best Value Colleges list for 2027,” stated Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. “In our opinion, they are truly the most exceptional in the nation at delivering outstanding academics, affordable cost and great career foundations.”

Franek further praised these institutions for their efforts in offering financial support to students in need, emphasizing their ability to deliver a valuable college experience at a reasonable price. “We salute them for all they do to help students with need afford to attend them via comparatively low sticker prices and/or extraordinarily generous financial aid – all while providing an amazing college experience that’s worth every penny.”

The Princeton Review’s decision to label the rankings as the 2027 edition corresponds with their release in the latter half of the year. The organization clarified, “This naming convention is standard for annual publishing projects and is based on the timing of the release,” which explains the absence of a 2026 edition. The previous rankings were published in June 2025, as the 2025 edition.
