Maricopa County News: Election Updates and Community Initiatives
As the summer heat subsides, Maricopa County residents can look forward to cooler weather and a host of upcoming events. This newsletter edition focuses on the swiftly approaching General Election, key updates on resident issues, and an inviting community event open to all.
General Election Approaches
With the General Election just weeks away, residents are reminded that the voter registration deadline is October 5, while early voting begins on October 7. Voters have several options, including voting by mail or using dropboxes. A new method allows voters to submit early ballots on Election Day at any voting center, where ballots are instantly tabulated with an ID. This method was utilized by over 20,000 voters in July, contributing to quicker election results.
Addressing E-Bike Safety
The rise in e-bike use has led to accidents, especially involving children. To enhance safety, a new ordinance for unincorporated Maricopa County land is being developed in line with existing state statutes. Thanks to the Maricopa County Attorney and the Sheriff for their support, this ordinance aims to protect both e-bike riders and pedestrians, without affecting seniors or individuals with disabilities who rely on motorized assistance.
Community Events and Engagement
