Providence Church Road Closure for Bridge Construction Until Spring 2025

Major Road Closure Announced in Teachey for Bridge Replacement

A significant infrastructure project is set to commence in Teachey, leading to the closure of a portion of Providence Church Road. This development is necessary for the construction of a new bridge over Rock Fish Creek, replacing the one built in 1972.

Starting on July 8, the section of the road crossing Rock Fish Creek will be inaccessible to traffic. The outdated structure will be replaced with a modern bridge that aligns with current safety and design standards.

To accommodate the bridge construction, a detour has been established. Drivers will need to reroute via N.C. 41, Chicken Neck Road, and Old Camp Road during the closure period. The new bridge is expected to be open to traffic by spring 2025.

Motorists are advised to prepare for longer travel times and exercise caution when navigating near the construction zone.
