Governor Stein Highlights Efforts to Support North Carolina Families
At the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina’s Annual Gathering, Governor Josh Stein emphasized the critical role of faith-based organizations in the state, while reaffirming his dedication to alleviating financial burdens on families.
“It was a pleasure to be with faith leaders from across our state who are dedicated to serving their fellow North Carolinians,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Together, we can build a state where everyone can thrive by strengthening public education, investing in good jobs and training, lowering the cost of living, and making sure that all voices are heard. That’s how we will build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous North Carolina.”
Governor Stein’s initiatives to reduce costs for residents include several legislative and executive measures. Recently, he enacted House Bill 3 to suspend the state gas tax. Furthermore, he directed the North Carolina Department of Revenue to relieve penalties related to red-dyed diesel fuel use, offering extended relief through 2026. In addition, he secured federal relief to aid farmers by mitigating costs associated with the same fuel.
