Road Closure in Rowan County Set for Bridge Replacement
Cedar Springs – A significant infrastructure project is set to commence in Rowan County, as a contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation plans to close a road for several months to replace a bridge.
Starting at 9 a.m. on July 22, Airport Road will be shut down to facilitate the construction of a new bridge over Grants Creek. This closure is expected to remain in effect until the latter part of November 2024.
Motorists will need to adhere to a designated detour, which directs traffic via U.S. 29, Rowan Mill Road, and N.C. 150. Signage will be prominently displayed to guide drivers around the closed section of the road.
Drivers should exercise increased caution and anticipate potential delays when navigating the detour route.
