Maricopa County Residents Gain Priority Access to Campsite Reservations

Maricopa County is enhancing its camping reservation system to prioritize local residents. This initiative comes in response to feedback from the community, which expressed a strong desire for earlier access to campsite bookings compared to out-of-state visitors.

The existing policy allows campsites to be reserved online up to six months in advance. However, starting April 29, residents of Maricopa County will enjoy the advantage of booking campsites two weeks before non-residents. This change aims to improve access to the County’s campsites, particularly during busy periods.

“This update ensures Maricopa County residents have prioritized access to enjoy their parks and campgrounds,” said Chair Kate Brophy McGee, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, District 3.

Vice Chair Debbie Lesko added, “Our parks are a valued community resource, and this change reflects our commitment to serving the residents who call Maricopa County home. We’re proud to continue welcoming visitors from across the country while also creating earlier access for those who live here.”
