No Debate Appearance Raises Questions on Cost Issues
In the political arena, debate appearances are often seen as crucial opportunities for candidates to address pressing concerns. Recently, the absence of Joe Lombardo from a scheduled debate has sparked significant discussion. Lombardo’s team made an unsuccessful attempt to cancel the event, citing his reluctance to face questions about rising costs affecting working families. Meanwhile, his opponent, Ford, seized the opportunity to engage directly with voters, delivering his message from the debate stage beside an unoccupied podium.
Lombardo’s strategy appears to involve distancing himself from his previous actions that have reportedly increased the financial burden on Nevada families. Despite this, his public appearances have been limited, with only two press conferences since the June primary. Critics draw parallels between Lombardo and his ally, Donald Trump, who has also been known to avoid media scrutiny, especially regarding the economic challenges attributed to his policies.
“After refusing to show up to last night’s debate, Joe Lombardo tried to get the entire thing canceled. It couldn’t be clearer that Lombardo is too much of a chicken to answer for jacking up families’ costs for the last four years,” said Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Kate Sosland. “Since telling Nevadans to ‘feel a little pain’ from tariffs and embracing a war jacking up fuel costs to record-highs, Lombardo is dodging Nevadans so he can focus on being Trump’s full-time doormat.”
