BLM Releases Proposed Grazing Decision for Flanigan Allotment
Approximately 50 miles north of Reno, Nevada, the Bureau of Land Management’s Sierra Front Field Office has announced the Proposed Grazing Decision concerning the Flanigan Grazing Allotment Grazing Permit Renewal Environmental Assessment. This allotment extends across the Virginia Mountains in Washoe County.
The Environmental Assessment (EA) aims to evaluate the renewal of the Flanigan Allotment permit, ensuring livestock grazing aligns with management goals on public lands. The allotment covers around 96,592 acres, of which 57 percent is BLM-managed public land (approximately 55,071 acres), and the remaining 43 percent is private land (about 41,414 acres).
