Florida Enhances Workforce Education: $40 Million Awarded Across 49 Programs
Tallahassee, Fla., September 30, 2025 – In a significant boost to workforce education, Florida’s Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas has announced the allocation of $40 million to enhance workforce education programs across the state. This funding comes from the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP) and targets high-demand industry sectors.
The fresh infusion of funds aims to increase workforce capacity by 59% for the programs receiving support. This initiative brings the total investment in Florida’s workforce education through Workforce CAP to $240 million since 2023. This financial commitment underscores Florida’s ongoing efforts to develop a skilled workforce tailored to meet the state’s economic needs.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas emphasized the state’s dedication, stating, “Florida’s workforce is stronger than ever because we are investing directly in students and the programs that prepare them for success. This $40 million investment expands opportunities across the state, giving students access to cutting-edge training and ensuring Florida remains the best place to build a career.”
The Workforce CAP initiative is designed to bolster education programs that provide hands-on training and skills development for high school and postsecondary students in sectors with high demand.
