Madison, Wis. – In the wake of severe storms and flooding that struck Wisconsin on April 13, the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) is transitioning to Level 3 operations to enhance recovery efforts statewide. This adjustment will enable continued collaboration with local and tribal emergency managers as the recovery process progresses.
Originally elevated from Level 4 to Level 2 on April 14, the SEOC has been actively addressing emergency needs. The Level 2 status, the second highest, facilitated the processing of 53 resource requests, predominantly for sandbagging operations across affected counties.
Throughout this period, the SEOC has engaged with an array of state and nongovernmental organizations to bolster resource distribution and support. Key partners include:
- Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs
- Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
- Wisconsin Department of Health Services
- Wisconsin Department of Transportation
- Wisconsin Department of Corrections
- Salvation Army
- American Red Cross
As of Tuesday, April 28, the move to Level 3 operations will provide increased monitoring and support throughout the recovery phase. For more details on SEOC operation levels, visit https://wem.wi.gov/about-us/.
The SEOC advises residents impacted by the disaster to stay informed via local channels and utilize 2-1-1 Wisconsin for damage reports or to access recovery resources and services.
