North Carolina Governor Offers $25,000 Reward in Ricky Gilliam Case

Reward Announced in Windsor Shooting Case

In a bid to solve a tragic murder case, North Carolina Governor Josh Stein has declared a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of 68-year-old Ricky Mel Gilliam.

“We must use every tool at our disposal to pursue justice for victims,” stated Governor Stein. He urged the public to come forward with any information that could help law enforcement apprehend Gilliam’s killer.

On April 4, 2023, authorities responded to a shooting incident at a residence on Governors Road in Windsor. Deputies discovered Mr. Gilliam suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred while he and his wife were watching television. The couple heard the doorbell ring, and as Mr. Gilliam approached the door, shots were fired through it, hitting him. Despite prompt medical intervention, Mr. Gilliam later died from his injuries.
