Chase Lowe Reaches 1,000 Points as William & Mary Triumphs Over A&T


The William & Mary Tribe secured a narrow victory against North Carolina A&T with a final score of 91-88 in Greensboro, marking their second high-scoring win over the Aggies this season. This game was highlighted by Chase Lowe achieving a personal milestone by scoring his 1,000th point for William & Mary.

Despite their loss, A&T’s shooting was impressive, hitting 64% from the field (35 of 55), a rematch performance after their previous 97-89 defeat at Kaplan Arena on January 15. The Tribe, on the other hand, connected on 32 of their 64 attempts and demonstrated ball control with only five turnovers compared to the Aggies’ 18.

Lowe’s milestone came in the second half, where he contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. Reese Miller was pivotal off the bench, leading the Tribe with 15 points. Tunde Vahlberg Fasasi added 13 points, including two critical free throws in the game’s closing moments, along with five assists.

For North Carolina A&T (11-17, 4-13), Lewis Walker delivered an outstanding performance with 27 points, alongside four rebounds and four assists. Contributions also came from Zamoku Weluche-Ume, Will Felton, and Trent Middleton Jr., each scoring 15 points. Middleton also secured 10 rebounds, aiding the Aggies in outrebounding the Tribe 35-22.

Although the Tribe nearly lost a 13-point lead in the second half, they maintained control for much of the contest. Fasasi’s free throws with 14 seconds on the clock extended their lead to 90-86. A quick layup by Middleton trimmed the deficit, but Lowe’s subsequent free throw and a decisive steal sealed the victory for William & Mary.

VCU 82, Fordham 63

Jadrian Tracey scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds, helping VCU (22-7, 13-3 Atlantic 10) to a decisive win over Fordham, ending the latter’s four-game winning streak. VCU’s lead, which had shrunk to three, was reestablished in the second half.

Barry Evans added 13 points and six rebounds for VCU, while Nyk Lewis contributed 11 points. Fordham’s Dejour Reaves led with 22 points and eight assists, supported by Akira Jacobs with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

George Mason 71, St. Bonaventure 58

George Mason (22-7, 10-6 Atlantic 10) dominated St. Bonaventure, ending a four-game losing streak with authority. Masai Troutman and Riley Allenspach each posted 21 points and six rebounds.

Frank Mitchell was a standout for the Bonnies with 15 points and 16 rebounds, while Darryl Simmons II added 14 points and five assists.

Lafayette 83, Army 77

Mark Butler led the Leopards (11-20, 8-10 Patriot League) with 21 points and six assists in their regular-season finale against Army. Andrew Phillips contributed 15 points and four steals.

For the Black Knights (11-20, 5-13), Jaxson Bell topped the scoreboard with 22 points and eight rebounds, as Jacen Holloway added 21 points and two steals.

Chattanooga 86, VMI 79

Jordan Frison’s remarkable 33-point effort propelled the Mocs (13-18, 7-11 Southern Conference) to a home victory, extending VMI’s losing streak to 16 games. Frison shot an impressive 14 for 18, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc.

Cal Liston led VMI (6-25, 1-17) with 21 points and nine rebounds, while TJ Johnson contributed 21 points and seven rebounds.
