Dallas City Services Schedule Changes for Memorial Day 2026

As Memorial Day approaches, residents of Dallas should be aware of various service changes and closures scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026. Here’s a detailed look at what to expect across the city.

City Services and Offices:

On Memorial Day, all City of Dallas administrative offices will be closed. This includes the library branches, which will not be accessible for in-person visits, although the Dallas Public Library’s online resources remain available around the clock at DallasLibrary.org.

Recreation and Cultural Centers:

Likewise, the administrative offices, maintenance facilities, and recreation centers will take a day off. However, the South Dallas Cultural Center will welcome visitors, contrasting with other cultural sites, such as the Latino Cultural Center and the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, which will be closed.

Animal Services and Emergency Services:

The Animal Services administrative offices will not be operational, but the shelter will open as usual. Animal Services Officers will continue to respond to service requests through the city’s 311 system.

311 Customer Help Line:

For any urgent city-related issues, 311 Customer Service Representatives will be available to handle calls about water main breaks, signal outages, and more. While the Water Customer Service will pause operations, residents can still submit requests online or via the Dallas 311 mobile app on iOS and Android.

Public Safety and Court Services:

While police and fire rescue administrative offices will not be open, their operational services will continue unaffected. The Municipal Courts Building will be closed, but payments can still be made by mail or online at www.dallascityhall.com. The Dallas Marshal’s Office will handle full payment processing and bonds around the clock.

Sanitation and Water Utilities:

Sanitation services, including garbage and recycling collections, will proceed as scheduled despite the administrative closures. The McCommas Bluff Landfill will operate under regular hours for self-service disposal. For more information, visit dsan.us/disposalinfo.

The Dallas Water Utilities offices will not be open, but emergency services can still be reached through 311. Non-emergency requests are best submitted online or through the Dallas 311 app, accessible on both iOS and Android devices.

Para emergencias relacionadas con el servicio de agua, llame al 3-1-1. Las solicitudes que no sean de emergencia se pueden hacer en línea o en la aplicación móvil Dallas 311 disponible en dispositivos iOS y Android.
