New Leadership Enhances Foundation for Delaware County’s Board
In a strategic move to strengthen its governance and community impact, The Foundation for Delaware County has welcomed two prominent figures to its board of directors. Ronald L. Gern, a seasoned attorney and real estate executive, along with Tuan H. Nguyen, a leading expert in wealth management, have been elected to join the board. This development coincides with the reappointment of four key officers, ensuring continuity and stability in the foundation’s mission.
The Foundation for Delaware County continues its commitment to fostering philanthropy and community development by connecting donors with impactful charitable initiatives. The foundation plays a pivotal role in Delaware County, which relies on the expertise and dedication of its board members to address local challenges and opportunities.
Board Members and Officers
Alongside the new appointments, the foundation has reappointed several distinguished individuals to its board of directors. Michael B. Magnavita will serve as Chair, Kelly Thornton as Vice Chair, Mia I. Mendoza as Secretary, and Ted Peters as Treasurer. Their leadership is integral to the foundation’s efforts in promoting community welfare and resilience.

Ronald L. Gern
Ronald L. Gern brings a wealth of experience in legal and real estate sectors to the foundation. A retired lawyer, Gern has held senior executive positions and served as General Counsel for major real estate companies, including a Fortune 500 REIT. His expertise spans across various real estate and infrastructure assets, making him a valuable asset to the board.
An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School, Gern has also contributed his skills as a board member for significant real estate projects in Chicago.
Tuan H. Nguyen
Tuan H. Nguyen, a Managing Director at Rockefeller Capital Management, specializes in providing comprehensive financial advice to families. With a background as Executive Director at JPMorgan Private Bank and other major financial institutions, Nguyen is adept at managing family wealth and guiding future generations.
Nguyen is committed to community service, serving on various boards, including Winrock International and the Barnes Foundation. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland College Park.
