Did you know that beetles make up a staggering 20% of all known species on Earth? With approximately 400,000 different beetle species out of the 2 million named species on the planet, these insects are the epitome of ecological success. This spring, the Wagner Free Institute of Science invites you to delve into the world of beetles through a comprehensive 6-week course. Led by the esteemed Professor Greg Cowper, participants will uncover the secrets behind beetles’ scientific classification, their impressive adaptability, vast diversity, ecological contributions, aesthetic wonders, and cultural significance.

The course will be held on 6 consecutive Thursdays, from October 1 to November 5, between 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Sessions will take place at the Parkway Central Library, Free Library of Philadelphia, located at 1901 Vine Street, within the Science and Wellness department (room 202).
