Improved Traffic Flow Planned for Indian Trail-Fairview Road
INDIAN TRAIL – Commuters traveling along Indian Trail-Fairview Road can look forward to a smoother journey, as a $195,000 initiative by the N.C. Department of Transportation aims to extend the right turn lane onto Idlewild Road.
This project involves increasing the current turn lane by 150 feet, enhancing the capacity for vehicle storage and improving traffic flow. Additionally, updates will be made to the left and through lane markings at this intersection.
Construction crews are scheduled to begin work later this summer, with an expected completion date in the fall. To minimize disruption, any lane closures on Indian Trail-Fairview Road, Secrest Shortcut Road, and Idlewild Road will only occur during non-peak travel times and will avoid major holidays.
