BLM Approves Temporary Gravel Road Construction Near Crystal Canyon

Temporary Gravel Road Construction Approved by BLM in Washoe County

A new development initiative has been greenlit by the Bureau of Land Management’s Sierra Front Field Office, paving the way for a temporary gravel road in Washoe County, Nevada. Lifestyle Homes TND, LLC has received authorization to construct and operate this two-lane access road near Crystal Canyon Boulevard, facilitating the transport of processed fill material between private parcels.

The construction plan outlines a 4,860-foot-long road, which will temporarily disturb approximately 3.7 acres of land. The project will involve limited grading, vegetation trimming, and the use of standard construction equipment. Importantly, once the project is completed, all disturbed areas are set to be fully reclaimed.

Incorporating best management practices from the BLM, the project ensures protection of natural and cultural resources. Measures include erosion control, wildlife timing restrictions, dust suppression, equipment cleaning to prevent invasive species, and avoidance of sensitive resources. Environmental assessments have confirmed that the project will not have significant impacts on the surrounding area. The full Decision Record can be accessed at: Crystal Canyon Road Access.

For further inquiries or concerns, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the project lead, Criz Miralles, Realty Specialist, at 775-885-6034 or via email at [email protected].
