Robin Hojnoski Appointed Dean of Lehigh University’s College of Education

With a proven track record in academic leadership and education, Robin Hojnoski, Ph.D., has been named Dean of the College of Education at Lehigh University, effective July 1, 2026. This announcement follows her two-year stint as Acting Dean, during which she demonstrated significant contributions to the institution.

Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, Nathan Urban, remarked, “Robin’s appointment as dean marks an exciting chapter for the College of Education. Over the past two years, she has demonstrated her remarkable skill in identifying and advancing core strategic initiatives at the college and university level. Robin’s work has strengthened our research-to-practice pipeline and fostered interdisciplinary synergy across the university. Under her leadership, the college is well-equipped to elevate its graduate programs and expand its societal impact.”

Hojnoski’s journey at Lehigh spans 18 years, where she has been a pivotal figure in the School Psychology Program and has served as Associate Dean of Graduate Education. Her leadership has been instrumental in launching the college’s fully online degree and certificate programs, aligning with evolving educational trends.

Reflecting on her new role, Hojnoski expressed, “I am honored and humbled to take on this role, having been a faculty member in the college for almost 20 years. I firmly believe in the power of education and the opportunities that it can create. The work of this college has an incredible impact on our schools and communities, both in terms of our research and our training programs. Our students truly are leaders in educational effectiveness and mental health. They make a difference every day, and we are grateful to be part of their journey.”

Throughout her tenure, Hojnoski plans to leverage the strengths of the college’s faculty and students to enhance the accessibility and impact of research, foster interdisciplinary engagement, and bolster the college’s network with community partners and alumni.

Early in her career with the College of Education, Hojnoski received the Frank Hook Assistant Professorship, acknowledging her exceptional commitment to teaching. Her research, focused on applying school psychology to early education, has resulted in over 33 scholarly articles and 10 book chapters. Her work has been supported by numerous grants, including a significant 2020 grant from the Institute for Education Sciences.

Hojnoski holds a master’s degree in Child Study and Human Development from Tufts University (1994) and a doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2002). She is an active editorial board member for several prestigious journals in her field.
