Maricopa County Supervisor Highlights Fiscal Responsibility in New Budget
Maricopa County Supervisor has emphasized the importance of fiscal responsibility in the newly approved budget for Fiscal Year 2027. Key features of this budget are designed to maximize the value of taxpayer dollars while maintaining financial stability within the county.
For the sixth year in a row, the property tax rate has been reduced, a consistent trend in every budget the current Board has approved. This reduction is part of a broader effort to ensure that residents benefit from the management of public funds. Additionally, the budget is notable for having no general obligation debt and maintaining a two-month fiscal reserve, providing a buffer against potential economic fluctuations.
Maricopa County also stands out with one of the lowest staff-to-resident ratios nationwide, at 3.3 staff per 1,000 residents, indicating efficient use of resources. As stated by the County Supervisor, “It’s a privilege to work on your behalf to ensure your County government never spends more than it takes in.”
