NRS Logistics to Open First North American Facility in Casa Grande, AZ

Major Expansion: NRS Logistics America to Establish New Facility in Casa Grande

In a significant development for the industrial sector, NRS Logistics America is set to establish its first North American distribution facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. This strategic move is expected to generate over 90 new employment opportunities once fully operational, with the first phase bringing 30 jobs by late 2024.

CASA GRANDE, AZ (August 7, 2023) – NRS Logistics America, a leader in chemical-logistics, has announced its plans to construct a semiconductor chemical and gas products distribution and storage facility in the region. The facility will be situated on 40 acres at the intersection of Ethington and Illinois roads, south of the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. This represents a substantial investment, with the initial phase encompassing a 69,000-square-foot area to support semiconductor, EV battery manufacturers, and the industrial chemical markets.

The facility will offer temperature-controlled storage for hazardous materials including flammable and corrosive chemicals and oxidizers, essential for semiconductor chip production and electric vehicle battery manufacturing. Additionally, it will feature portable bulk tank storage and lift operations.

Yuichi Sato, President of NRS Logistics America, explained the decision-making process: With the growing markets in semiconductor manufacturing and EV battery manufacturing, NRS evaluated several other states for our first North American investment. Arizona was the best fit for NRS’ expansion, providing proximity to the customer base, port operations in southern California, and excellent value for land investment. The City of Casa Grande has also seen additional growth with several chemical suppliers and was a great fit for NRS to align with the other manufacturers in the area to offer our storage and transportation services.

Casa Grande’s burgeoning economic landscape is further enhanced by this development. Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, expressed enthusiasm, stating: We are excited NRS Logistics has selected Casa Grande for its first U.S. semiconductor chemical distribution facility. As a global chemical logistics leader, NRS Logistics expands Arizona’s semiconductor supply chain and supports Casa Grande’s growing semiconductor ecosystem.

Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, emphasized the significance of this expansion: Now home to the first NRS distribution facility in North America, Casa Grande continues its momentum as a notable location for semiconductor players. We’re excited to see the growth of the semiconductor and electric vehicle spaces across the region with NRS incorporated into the ecosystem.

Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland also highlighted the positive impact on the local economy: Casa Grande is excited about welcoming another industry leading company to our community that will continue to grow and diversify our economy. NRS will play an important role in supporting the semiconductor industry not only in Casa Grande, but the State of Arizona helping to enhance the state’s reputation as an excellent location for this industry.

In recent years, Casa Grande has seen rapid economic growth with expansions from companies like battery recycler Ecobat, and semiconductor suppliers such as Chang Chun Arizona, KPCT Advanced Chemicals, Solvay, and LCY Chemical.
