Chang Chun Arizona’s First U.S. Facility to Create 200 Jobs in 2023

Chang Chun Arizona’s New Facility to Bolster U.S. Semiconductor Industry

In a significant move for the U.S. semiconductor sector, Chang Chun Arizona, a prominent Taiwanese petrochemical supplier, has initiated the construction of its first American manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. This development promises to generate over 200 jobs when it becomes operational in 2023, contributing to the burgeoning semiconductor manufacturing landscape in the region.

The groundbreaking event, attended by Arizona Commerce Authority representatives, Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland, city council members, and local leaders, emphasizes Arizona’s growing reputation as a hub for semiconductor activity. This facility further strengthens the state’s comprehensive semiconductor supply chain.

With an investment of $300 million, the Casa Grande plant will produce crucial semiconductor materials such as electronic-grade hydrogen peroxide, TMAH-based developers, and other electronic-grade solutions. Governor Ducey remarked, Arizona is proud to welcome Chang Chun Arizona’s first U.S. manufacturing facility to Casa Grande and acknowledged the company’s role in enhancing the state’s advanced manufacturing environment.

Yu-hung (Calvin) Su, President of Chang Chun Arizona, expressed gratitude for the support from Arizona, stating, By establishing our new facility in Arizona, this is a significant milestone in CCAZ’s expansion into the U.S. The facility aims to meet the increasing semiconductor demand both in Arizona and nationwide, with plans to start supplying wafer fabrication facilities by 2024 and full completion expected by 2025.

Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, highlighted the strategic importance of the facility, saying, Chang Chun Arizona’s new facility bolsters our already vibrant semiconductor supply chain while creating new, high-tech jobs in Pinal County.

Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland expressed enthusiasm for the development, noting the facility’s potential to support the new TSMC facility and future manufacturing advancements. This new facility will support both the new TSMC facility and future advanced manufacturing development in Arizona, he said.

Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, added that the facility strengthens the semiconductor supply chain in Greater Phoenix. The addition of Chang Chun Arizona strengthens the Greater Phoenix semiconductor supply chain by providing materials essential to the chip manufacturing process, said Camacho.
