Blue Origin Expands Footprint with New Phoenix Office, Bringing Hundreds of Jobs

In a strategic move to bolster its space endeavors, Blue Origin has inaugurated a new office in Phoenix, Arizona. The newly established 43,288-square-foot facility will be instrumental in enhancing avionics, systems engineering, and supply chain management across the company’s various programs, and is set to create hundreds of new job opportunities.

Having already recruited over 100 employees, Blue Origin plans to expand its workforce significantly in Phoenix. The grand opening was attended by prominent figures including Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, as well as local community leaders and Blue Origin staff.

Michael Edmonds, Blue Origin’s Senior Vice President of Strategy, Marketing, and Sales, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s expansion into Phoenix. Blue Origin is thrilled to invest in the Valley and open our site in Phoenix, which offers a vast amount of aerospace engineering and manufacturing talent and excellent universities and trade schools statewide, he stated. This partnership will accelerate our mission to reduce the cost of access to space resources for the benefit of Earth.

The new office is set to support a range of operations, with job openings spanning program management, supply chain, avionics, systems engineering, and analysis. These roles will touch on engineering tasks, mission design, integration, and software development for both launch vehicle and space system initiatives.

Arizona Commerce Authority President and CEO Sandra Watson highlighted the significance of Blue Origin’s arrival in Arizona. We are excited to welcome global aerospace innovator Blue Origin to Arizona, she remarked. Blue Origin’s new office will support the development of next generation spacecraft while expanding our vibrant aerospace industry and creating skilled jobs for our growing workforce.

Arizona’s robust aerospace sector, strong workforce, and business-friendly environment were crucial factors in Blue Origin’s decision to set up operations in Phoenix. Mayor Kate Gallego emphasized the city’s reputation as a hub for advanced aerospace technologies. Phoenix is known as a major development hub of the most cutting-edge aerospace technologies, and I am excited that Blue Origin has decided to be a part of it, she commented. Blue Origin’s new office will create great engineering jobs for Phoenicians while developing the space technology of the future.

The expansion into Phoenix aligns with recent aerospace developments in Arizona, such as Virgin Galactic’s spaceship manufacturing facility and Boeing’s advanced composite fabrication center expansion in Mesa, alongside Northrop Grumman’s satellite manufacturing facility expansion in Gilbert.
