Arizona Ranks Top 5 for Business and Innovation by Chief Executive

PHOENIX, AZ (May 2, 2023) – Arizona’s reputation as a hub for business and innovation continues to rise, as it secures a top 5 position in Chief Executive Magazine‘s Best States For Business list for the second consecutive year. This accolade is based on insights from nearly 700 CEOs and business owners across the United States.

In addition, Arizona has been highlighted as a leading state for innovation, securing a top 5 rank in the latest “innovation scorecard” by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). The scorecard provides an assessment of state policies concerning emerging technologies, broadband, and STEM education.

According to the CTA report, Arizona stands out as one of only thirteen states to earn the “Innovation Champion” title, the highest designation in the evaluation. The state excelled in categories such as drones and advanced air mobility, self-driving vehicle operations, and comprehensive telehealth services.

“Arizona is widely recognized as a top place in the country for business and innovation,” commented Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “With our world-class universities and community colleges, modern infrastructure, low cost of doing business, and vibrant innovation ecosystem, Arizona is where good ideas and dynamic entrepreneurs can thrive.”

The state’s innovation landscape is further advancing with the inauguration of Plug and Play Arizona. This global innovation platform aims to boost startup growth and drive innovation in advanced manufacturing.
