Evie Networks Sets its Sights on Phoenix for North American Expansion
In a significant move for the electric vehicle industry, Evie Networks, an Australian leader in fast-charging solutions, has chosen Phoenix, Arizona as the location for its North American headquarters. This strategic decision marks a pivotal step in the company’s mission to enhance electric vehicle infrastructure across the United States.
Evie Networks plans to roll out a series of electric vehicle charging stations throughout Arizona, with the first installations expected to be operational within 18 months. These charging stations will be conveniently situated in areas frequented by the public, such as workplaces, residential zones, and recreational areas. Supported by the Brisbane-based St Baker Energy Innovation Fund, this expansion will not only broaden the company’s market presence but also create job opportunities in the region.
“By expanding our operations in the United States, Evie Networks aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and improve the sustainability of the transportation sector in the U.S.,” stated Chris Mills, Evie Network’s Managing Director.
Chris Hay, Managing Partner of the St Baker Energy Innovation Fund, expressed enthusiasm for the venture, noting, “We are excited to see innovative Australian company like Evie Networks providing jobs on the other side of the globe. Their arrival in Phoenix represents not only an investment in the local economy but also a significant step forward in the global movement towards sustainable energy practices.”
Evie Networks, established in 2017, has already made a significant impact in Australia with over 350 charging sites in various stages of development. The company intends to replicate its successful model in the U.S. by focusing on high-traffic areas, anticipating a rise in electric vehicle adoption. Its open-access format encourages other charger owners to integrate into the network.
“Evie Networks’ new headquarters showcase Arizona’s international attractiveness,” remarked Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “We are proud to welcome this sustainable leader to Arizona as part of our thriving electric vehicle industry.”
Echoing this sentiment, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego commented, “Phoenix continues to lead the nation with a burgeoning ecosystem embracing the success of the electric vehicle future. Australia-based Evie’s North American headquarters continues the momentum we’re experiencing in the ‘Electric Valley.’ We are pleased to welcome Evie to Phoenix, and our teams stand ready to support a strong trajectory.”
Evie Networks joins other Australian enterprises in the region, such as Arizona Lithium, which announced plans to develop a research and processing facility in Tempe, promising hundreds of new jobs.
