Lehigh University is welcoming a new addition to its team as David Rose, a seasoned professional in the field of facilities management, joins the campus. Rose, who has an impressive track record at the University of Pennsylvania, expressed his enthusiasm in becoming part of the Lehigh community. “I’m excited to join the Lehigh community and help shape the future of such a remarkable campus,” Rose stated. He emphasized that, “Great universities are built on more than buildings. They are built on environments that inspire learning, discovery, and collaboration.”
At the University of Pennsylvania, Rose was instrumental in leading several significant projects. Among these were Tangen Hall, which serves as a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation; the Wharton Academic Research Building; and the cutting-edge Vagelos Laboratory for Energy Science and Technology. Earlier in his career, Rose played a pivotal role in developing a campus master plan for Saint Joseph’s University, which laid the foundation for the institution’s future physical development.
Rose is a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, hailing from Uniontown. Outside his professional endeavors, he dedicates time to woodworking and furniture design, channeling his engineering skills into various DIY projects. He is also a family man, with two daughters—one of whom is starting college this fall, with her sibling not far behind.
Reflecting on his career and personal life, Rose shared, “Having spent my career helping create environments where students learn and faculty do their best work, it is especially meaningful to be joining Lehigh at the same moment my daughter is beginning her own college journey.” He added, “Through my own experience, I am reminded that every project we tackle serves real people and influences the trajectory of their lives.”
