Nevada Gains Key Endorsements for First Presidential Primary Bid

The race for the first presidential primary spot has seen Nevada gaining significant traction, as two major Democratic organizations, CHC BOLD PAC and ASPIRE PAC, have endorsed the state’s bid. This endorsement follows the Democratic National Committee Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting in Pittsburgh, underscoring Nevada’s unique demographic advantages and its strategic importance for presidential campaigns. The state’s diverse population provides a crucial testing ground for economic messages and political strategies.

CHC BOLD PAC has advocated for Nevada to host the first presidential primary to enhance Latino voter engagement. With nearly a million Latino residents, Nevada’s status as a pivotal battleground state highlights its significance in shaping Democratic victories. According to the PAC, the state is emblematic of the working-class Latino coalition necessary for a Democratic win in 2028, especially considering the Latino voters who supported Trump in 2024 but now express regret, as highlighted by recent polls and reports.

CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez stated, “If Democrats want to flip the White House in 2028 and continue winning up and down the ballot, we must prioritize Latino voices through early outreach and meaningful engagement in the presidential nominating process. No state better represents the broad coalition of diverse working-class voters that our party must build in order to be successful than Nevada.”

ASPIRE PAC echoed this endorsement, emphasizing Nevada’s leading Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) population among early primary states. The state’s diverse electorate, including significant Asian, Black, and Latino populations, offers a microcosm of the national voter base necessary for any viable Democratic candidate. Engaging these communities early in the process is crucial for strengthening the Democratic Party’s ties with one of the fastest-growing voter groups in the U.S.

ASPIRE PAC Chair Marilyn Strickland remarked, “The diversity of Nevada’s voters best represents the broad coalition that a viable 2028 Democratic presidential candidate must have to take back the White House. Candidates who can win the primary in a battleground state with significant Asian, Black, and Latino primary voters will have a solid path to the Democratic nomination and can defeat a Republican in the general election.”

These endorsements build on earlier support from notable groups such as Latino Victory Fund, Somos Votantes, UNITE Here, and AAPI Victory. The growing consensus among national organizations is that Nevada’s demographic composition and battleground status make it an ideal starting point for the Democratic presidential nominating process, reflecting a microcosm of the national electorate poised to decide the next presidential race.
