The City of Dallas Unveils a Pioneering Nighttime Economy Division
In a groundbreaking move, the City of Dallas has officially introduced its Nighttime Economy & Responsible Hospitality (NTE) Division. This innovative initiative aims to enhance the city’s nightlife, bolster its cultural economy, and improve readiness for global events.
The newly established NTE Division is dedicated to ensuring that Dallas’ nightlife and cultural economy not only flourish but do so in a way that harmonizes the interests of the community, businesses, and public safety. This initiative positions Dallas as a leader in promoting a secure, vibrant, and internationally connected nightlife scene.
Dallas’ nightlife plays a crucial role in the city’s economy, generating over $24 billion annually from activities occurring between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This sector also supports more than 256,000 jobs, establishing itself as a major economic and cultural force within the city.
Serving as a central point for collaboration, the division aligns various stakeholders, including businesses, nightlife partners, industry participants, residents, and public safety officials, to foster a thriving social economy. After more than a year of meticulous planning and preparation, the division is gaining public attention with the forthcoming Glow Up Summit, scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Dec on Dragon.
“The nighttime economy is one of Dallas’ most powerful drivers of culture, connection, and commerce,” said Edward Grant, Nighttime Economy & Responsible Hospitality Manager. “The Glow Up Summit marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter—bringing our businesses, venues, and communities together to safeguard this sector, prepare for major global events, and ensure Dallas sets the standard for a world-class nightlife economy.”
Additional information regarding the Glow Up Summit, including details on programming and registration, will be released in the upcoming weeks.
