Enhanced Internet Connectivity Approved for Rural Nevada

ELKO, Nev. – In a move set to improve internet services for rural communities, the Bureau of Land Management has approved three rights-of-way for the installation of new fiber optic lines.

The approval covers a total of 13.5 miles of fiber optic installations along the Interstate 80 corridor. The project will connect several key locations: from the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Maintenance Station at Pequop Summit to the Oasis Exit, from east of Wells to the Wells Conservation Camp in Independence Valley, and from the Carlin Conservation Camp east of Carlin to the Battle Born Youth Academy.
