In an effort to aid environmental sustainability and community cleanliness, the City of Flint is teaming up with Environmental Rubber Recycling for a unique initiative. On Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents are invited to participate in a Tire Buyback event.
The event will be hosted at the Environmental Rubber Recycling facility, located at 6515 N Dort Hwy in Flint. This initiative provides a practical solution for residents looking to dispose of old tires responsibly.
Flint residents can bring up to 25 tires each, with a compensation of $1 per tire, up to a total of $25. To qualify for payment, participants must provide proof of residency. This measure ensures that the benefit is exclusive to those living within the city.
It’s important to note that only auto and light truck tires will be accepted at the event. Commercial or agricultural tires will not be accepted. Additionally, all tires must be removed from their rims beforehand. The event is strictly for non-commercial residents, with commercial vehicles and box trucks being prohibited.
