Extension Extra’s Parenting Hour
Join MSU Extension for interactive online workshops designed to support parents in managing the diverse challenges of raising children. These sessions, held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00PM ET, allow participants to choose the workshops that best suit their needs:

Parenting Series
Guiding Principles for Highly Successful Parenting
This five-week series is tailored for parents of children across all age groups, focusing on effective parenting strategies like establishing routines, managing emotions, and fostering positive relationships. Certificates of attendance and MIRegistry Credit are offered.
The Parent Talk System
Enhance your communication skills with this course aimed at parents and caregivers. Over six weeks, learn techniques for promoting responsible behavior, setting boundaries, and nurturing independence. MIRegistry Credit is available upon completion.

In-Person Workshop: Including All of Us
This intensive training explores diversity, equity, and inclusion in childhood settings. Participants engage in self-reflection and learn to apply anti-bias education. This six-hour program is recognized in the MiRegistry system, and completion certificates are provided.

Online Self-Paced Classes
MSU Extension offers self-paced online classes that participants can complete at their convenience.
Positive Discipline: This course helps adults cultivate environments that promote self-control in children. It includes tracks for parents, caregivers, and professionals, with MIRegistry Credit available.
Infant Safety
In collaboration with the Livingston County Child Abuse Prevention Council, MSU Extension presents “Sleeping, Crying, Driving,” a self-directed course on infant safety. Participants receive a certificate of completion and MIRegistry Credit.
MI Parenting Resource
This complimentary online resource provides support for caregivers to enhance their parenting skills and foster positive behavior in children.
