Barry-Eaton Health Department Confirms Safety Measures at Cirque Italia Event
May 30, 2026
The Barry-Eaton District Health Department (BEDHD) has announced that necessary safety measures have been successfully implemented at the Cirque Italia Water Circus venue, situated at 5330 W. Saginaw Highway, Lansing.
An investigation conducted by BEDHD on May 29, 2026, revealed that sewage and wastewater were being discharged onto the ground in the venue’s parking lot. This situation was identified as a significant public health risk, necessitating immediate action as outlined by the Michigan Public Health Code.
In response, BEDHD collaborated closely with event organizers and property managers to address the problem and ensure the site adhered to safe sanitary standards.
Upon reinspection, the department confirmed that all required corrective actions had been completed, allowing the venue to comply with public health regulations.
Consequently, the site has been cleared to reopen to the public starting May 30, 2026.
“Protecting public health and safety remains our top priority,” stated Rebekah Condon, Health Officer. “We appreciate the cooperation of event operators and property representatives in addressing the issue quickly and taking the necessary steps to correct the problem.”
Additionally, BEDHD acknowledged the outstanding collaboration among local partners, including Eaton County agencies and officials, whose efforts were crucial in swiftly and effectively resolving the issue.
BEDHD continues to work with community partners to ensure the health and safety of Eaton County residents and visitors.
