Opportunity for Youth Programs in Flint: 2026 ReCAST Mini-Grants

The Flint ReCAST Mini-Grant Program is rolling out its 2026 funding cycle, inviting proposals that aim to strengthen youth development and community resilience. With a focus on fostering equity and trauma-informed care, this initiative offers a financial boost to programs dedicated to empowering Flint’s youth and families.

Funding Details:

Grant Range: $5,000 to $25,000

Application Start Date: Friday, January 30, 2026

Submission Deadline: Friday, February 27, 2026, by 3:00 p.m.

Funding Duration: April 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026

Program Goals:

Goal 1: Encourage Youth Engagement and Positive Development, involving initiatives such as mental health promotion, career guidance, and peer support.

Goal 2: Enhance Trauma-Informed and Behavioral Health Services, including resiliency training, mental health literacy, and self-care awareness initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, government agencies, academic institutions, and community-based organizations with a fiscal sponsor. However, the grant does not cover religious activities, lobbying efforts, capital projects, food, snacks, refreshments, loans, or debt reduction.
