Volunteer Opportunities and Schedule for Commencement Ceremonies

Volunteering at commencement is supported and encouraged by the Office of the President, including flexing time when a staff member volunteers outside of their normal working hours.

Commencement Schedule

10 a.m.: College of the Environment, Forestry, and Natural Sciences | Steve Sanghi College of Engineering

3 p.m.: College of Social and Behavioral Sciences | NAU Yuma

Volunteer Commitment Details

Volunteers are required to attend mandatory training, scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, May 7. Additionally, an optional Skydome walkthrough will occur from noon to 12:30 on the same day.

Each ceremony lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, with a total time commitment of about four hours per event.

Marshal Responsibilities

For marshals, mandatory training is set for 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, May 7. Similar to volunteers, marshals should anticipate a total time commitment of around four hours per ceremony, including the event itself, which lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours.
