Great Rotumpkin Returns to UVA’s Rotunda for Halloween Weekend

This Halloween weekend, the iconic Rotunda at the University of Virginia is set to dazzle spectators once again. After a hiatus last year, the much-anticipated Great Rotumpkin lights up the night sky with its return.

The event, which is open to the public free of charge, will run on both Friday and Saturday evenings from approximately 7 to 11 p.m. Attendees will be treated to a continuous loop of an 8- to 10-minute show.

This year’s spectacle promises to blend cherished classics with two new animations, featuring dancing skeletons, glowing pumpkins, and a transformation of the Rotunda into a gigantic jack-o’-lantern.

The event is made possible through the sponsorship of UVA Arts, the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts, Arts on the Hill, and the University Programs Council.
