Miguel Mostafá to Transition from Temple University to University of Missouri-Kansas City
In a significant leadership change, Miguel Mostafá is set to leave his role as Dean of the College of Science and Technology at Temple University. This announcement was made during a faculty town hall, revealing that Mostafá will step down on May 31.
Starting June 1, Mostafá will assume the position of dean at the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Reflecting on his tenure at Temple University, Mostafá expressed in an email to The Temple News, “Serving as Dean of the College of Science and Technology has been my greatest privilege. This decision was not an easy one because CST is such a vibrant and supportive community. I am deeply grateful to have worked alongside dedicated faculty, talented students, and committed staff. I leave with great confidence in the college’s future.”
Mostafá joined Temple University in Fall 2023, transitioning from his role as associate dean for research and innovation at Penn State’s Eberly College of Science. His leadership has been marked by a commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation within the college.
Details regarding the appointment of an interim dean will be shared soon, according to an email sent to CST faculty by Interim Provost David Boardman, which was obtained by The Temple News. The university anticipates a smooth transition as it seeks to continue its trajectory of growth and success under new leadership.
