XNRGY Climate Systems Breaks Ground on New Mesa Facility, Promising Hundreds of Jobs
In a significant move towards expanding its US presence, XNRGY Climate Systems has initiated construction on a new manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona. This state-of-the-art plant will serve as the company’s U.S. headquarters and promises to generate over 900 new jobs, marking a $300 million investment in sustainable climate solutions.
On April 16, XNRGY’s leadership, including Founder and CEO Wais Jalali and Co-Founder Sham Ahmed, celebrated this milestone alongside notable figures such as Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, and Mesa Mayor John Giles. The facility is slated to begin operations in the first quarter of 2025.
Located at Gateway East at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, the new facility will initially cover 275,000 square feet, surpassing the size of XNRGY’s current headquarters in Montreal. This development is a part of XNRGY’s comprehensive $300 million capital investment strategy aimed at establishing a 1,000,000-square-foot sustainable manufacturing hub.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs expressed pride in XNRGY’s decision to establish its operations in Arizona, saying, “XNRGY’s new manufacturing facility and U.S. headquarters are another example of why Arizona is the global destination for advanced industry. We are proud XNRGY has chosen Arizona for its significant manufacturing operations, which will create hundreds of skilled jobs for Arizonans and strengthen the state’s sustainability leadership.”
Wais Jalali highlighted XNRGY’s commitment to sustainability, noting, “XNRGY’s commitment to sustainability means we focus on research and development to ensure our products offer maximum energy efficiency, reduced carbon footprints, and support for LEED certification across diverse applications.”
The expansion is not just about increasing production capacity; it also reflects XNRGY’s dedication to environmental stewardship and the U.S. market. The company plans to collaborate with local universities and trade schools to recruit talent, fostering a new generation of sustainability champions.
Sandra Watson remarked on the importance of the groundbreaking, stating, “Today’s groundbreaking represents an exciting milestone for XNRGY’s Arizona operations. XNRGY’s sustainable manufacturing facility marks yet another company establishing headquarters in Arizona and will support the state’s thriving technology industries.”
Mesa Mayor John Giles emphasized the significance of the project, saying, “As Mesa continues to evolve as a hub for innovation, we are delighted to see XNRGY’s groundbreaking on their massive sustainable manufacturing hub. This significant investment not only underscores Mesa’s attractiveness for leading-edge companies but also reinforces our commitment to a greener future.”
Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, praised XNRGY’s approach, stating, “By incorporating sustainable construction and development, XNRGY is leading by example. The company’s manufacturing and sustainability focuses align directly with the emerging advanced tech core of Greater Phoenix, making Mesa the ideal landing spot for its monumental headquarters.”
J. Brian O’Neill, Executive Director and CEO of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, noted the significance of this development for Gateway East, saying, “Today’s groundbreaking event is the first for Gateway East, a 273-acre world-class airport business park. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority welcomes XNRGY to the Airport and is excited to have them leading the development of Gateway East.”
