Pentagon Technologies to Boost Arizona’s Semiconductor Sector with New Facility

In a significant move for Arizona’s semiconductor industry, Pentagon Technologies Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Kurita Water Industries, Ltd., has announced plans to establish a new facility in Mesa, Arizona. This venture, marked by an investment exceeding $50 million, is poised to generate up to 300 new jobs, reinforcing the region’s stature in the high-tech manufacturing sector.

MESA, AZ (February 29, 2024) — Pentagon Technologies, known for supplying critical materials and advanced chamber cleaning equipment to semiconductor foundries, is set to launch its latest facility by the end of 2024. This development is part of the company’s strategy to expand its footprint and enhance service delivery in the semiconductor industry.

The construction of the 65,500-square-foot facility has already commenced with all necessary building and land acquisition, facility design, and permitting processes completed. Once operational, it will stand as Pentagon’s most extensive precision cleaning site, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies and optimized operational processes.

We are thrilled to partner with the City of Mesa in building a cutting-edge facility to support the growth of semiconductor fabs in Arizona, expressed Pentagon’s CEO, Dave Christeson. Our facility will have the capability to provide precision cleaning to industry leaders on the most advanced semiconductor tools in the industry. We are excited to provide so many new jobs in such an exciting industry to people in the Mesa area.

Headquartered in Hayward, California, Pentagon Technologies offers mission-critical manufacturing support services, contamination detection, and protection consumables to the semiconductor and microelectronics industries globally. The company is committed to enhancing the productivity of high-tech fabrication equipment through its proprietary services and products.

In June 2022, Pentagon became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokyo-based Kurita Water Industries Ltd., a company with a substantial global presence and operations in over 20 countries. Kurita specializes in water treatment chemicals, water treatment facilities, and maintenance services, and is publicly listed under Stock Ticker 6370 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The new Arizona facility is Kurita’s latest and largest strategic investment in the precision cleaning business in recent years, stated Shingo Yamaga, Chairman of the Board of Pentagon. We are very honored to be able to make a significant contribution to our customers in the semiconductor industry and the local community through this new facility. We also believe that this investment is extremely important in that Kurita expands its foundation to provide high-quality one-stop services to the world’s top customers in the semiconductor industry wherever and whenever they need.

The announcement has been warmly received by local economic leaders. Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, remarked, Pentagon Technologies’ new facility strengthens Arizona’s already robust semiconductor supply chain, which is the fastest-growing in the nation. We are grateful to Pentagon Technologies for its investment in Arizona and look forward to supporting the company’s success in Mesa.

Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, also welcomed the development, saying, Pentagon Technologies’ front-end support and technical site services add crucial elements to the semiconductor supply chain clustered in Greater Phoenix.
