New Kohler Facility in Arizona to Bolster Job Market and Sustainability Efforts
CASA GRANDE, AZ (May 15, 2024) – In a significant move for the manufacturing sector, Kohler Co. has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. The event was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by prominent figures including Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, Kohler’s new employees, and several local and state officials.
The newly opened facility will focus on the production of STERLING brand bath and shower fixtures. Spanning one million square feet across 216 acres, the site is designed to accommodate future growth. It features a manufacturing plant, a distribution center, and a showroom for visitors to explore Kohler’s innovative products.
Governor Katie Hobbs highlighted the facility’s contribution to Arizona’s manufacturing landscape, stating, Arizona is a recognized hub of excellence for manufacturing, innovation, and sustainability, all of which are enhanced by the addition of Kohler’s new state-of-the-art facility.

The facility incorporates advanced production technologies aimed at reducing environmental impact. Kohler plans to track measures such as greenhouse gas emissions and water usage to improve sustainability. The U.S. Department of Energy has recognized Kohler’s commitment by selecting the company for a $51.2 million award negotiation to implement decarbonization solutions at the plant.
Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, praised Kohler’s investment, saying, Kohler’s sustainable manufacturing facility showcases Arizona’s attractiveness as a premier global destination for advanced manufacturing. We’re grateful an iconic company like Kohler is investing in our state while creating hundreds of skilled jobs in rural Arizona.
Kohler is also committed to significant reductions in carbon emissions at the Casa Grande facility. Plans include an electric boiler and microgrid system, a 21MW solar array, and long-duration energy storage batteries. These efforts are expected to cut pressing process emissions by 90%, significantly reducing the facility’s environmental footprint.
Additionally, Kohler has engaged in local environmental projects, like supporting initiatives to shift high water use crops to low water use alternatives, further contributing to sustainability efforts in the region.
