Florida Folk Festival: Celebrate Music and Heritage in White Springs

Florida Folk Festival Celebrates Cultural Heritage and History

In a vibrant display of musical diversity and cultural heritage, Florida State Parks is set to host the 74th Annual Florida Folk Festival from May 22 to 24, 2026. This time-honored event will take place at the Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs, offering a rich tapestry of performances and activities that underscore Florida’s significant cultural contributions.

Recognized as a “Top 20 Event” in the Southeast, the festival will showcase a wide array of music genres, including folk, blues, gospel, country, Latin, jazz, bluegrass, Caribbean, and zydeco. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy over 300 performances from a diverse lineup of artists, songwriters, and musicians. Beyond music, the festival will engage visitors with workshops, dance lessons, educational exhibits, and artisan demonstrations, making it a comprehensive cultural experience.

Chuck Hatcher, Director of Florida State Parks, emphasized the festival’s importance, stating, “The Florida Folk Festival reflects the people, traditions, and shared experiences that have shaped Florida for generations.” Notably, this year’s festival aligns with America’s 250th anniversary, presenting a unique chance to celebrate Florida’s role in the nation’s cultural narrative.

This year, special programming will spotlight Florida’s historical and cultural influence. The Florida Remembered area will offer immersive historical experiences with workshops, demonstrations, and living history interpreters. Additionally, the Folklife area will feature the America 250 stage, where performances and storytelling will honor America’s rich heritage.

For those planning to attend, advance admission is priced at $35 per day for adults, or $70 for the weekend. Gate admission is slightly higher at $40 per day or $80 for the weekend. Children aged 6-16 can attend for $5 over the weekend, while those under 6 enjoy free entry. The festival will commence with an opening ceremony at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, May 22, and will proceed rain or shine. Tickets are available here.
