Drake University Excels in National Rankings for Advanced Education Programs
Drake University has been acknowledged for its distinguished performance in professional education, with several programs achieving top national rankings in the U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Graduate Schools rankings. This recognition highlights the university’s strength across disciplines, particularly in its Law School, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS), and School of Education.
Drake University President Marty Martin expressed pride in the rankings, stating, “These rankings reflect the unmatched value of a Drake education. Drake Law School Achievements
The Drake University Law School has secured the No. 91 spot on the “Best Law Schools” list for the fourth year in a row. The school is celebrated for its skill-based training programs, which have seen significant improvements in rankings:
- Legal Writing: Advanced to No. 11 nationally.
- Trial Advocacy: Improved to rank No. 92.
- Clinical Training: Ranked No. 66.
- Constitutional Law: Positioned at No. 95.
Additional recognition was given in Business/Corporate Law (No. 101), Intellectual Property Law (No. 106), and Dispute Resolution (No. 107). Roscoe Jones, Jr., dean of the Law School, remarked, “Our rising performance in areas like legal writing, trial advocacy, and clinical training demonstrates our commitment to preparing practice-ready graduates.”
Health Sciences National Recognition
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Drake maintains its elite status, with impressive national rankings for its programs:
- Pharmacy: Among the top 5 private institutions, ranked No. 49 overall.
- Occupational Therapy: Best in Iowa and top 25 private, ranked No. 51 overall.
Dean Erik Maki highlighted the college’s leadership in health sciences, stating, “These rankings underscore the work we are doing to live out our mission of improving health outcomes in the communities we serve.”
Education Program Distinctions
Drake’s School of Education is ranked in the top third of “Best Education Schools” with its Rehabilitation Counseling program at No. 50. Dean Ryan Wise stated, “The strong ranking of our Rehabilitation Counseling program is one example of the high-quality preparation happening across our school.”
