Bank of America Plaza Re-Certified Platinum in Dallas Green Program

In a city known for its iconic skyline, the Bank of America Plaza stands out not just for its height and distinctive green LED lighting but also for its unwavering commitment to sustainability. Recently, this towering structure was re-certified as a Platinum member of the Dallas Green Business Certification Program, an accolade that underscores its dedication to environmentally conscious practices.

The certification, managed by the Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability and sponsored by the City of Dallas, highlights businesses that excel in sustainable practices aimed at ecosystem restoration and community benefit. The Platinum status, the program’s highest honor, is a testament to the building’s ongoing leadership in environmental stewardship.

Bank of America Plaza was one of the initial participants when the Dallas Green Business Certification Program first launched. Even with the updates set for 2025, the building has admirably retained its Platinum status. This distinction is attributed to its exemplary policies and operations in areas such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable transportation, and educational initiatives on sustainability. Additionally, the building is actively involved in the Lights Out, DFW initiative to safeguard migrating birds and maintains two beehives to bolster local pollinator populations.

Further affirming its commitment to a sustainable environment, Bank of America Plaza boasts several other prestigious recognitions. These include LEED Gold certification, the Metropolis Bewell™ Promise, Fitwel®, UL Verified Healthy Building Marks, and the BOMA 360 designation. As an ENERGY STAR® partner, the building continues to advocate for a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment.
