NC Bail Bondsman Arrested: Felony Weapon Charges and Assault Accusations

Bail Bondsman in North Carolina Faces Serious Charges Following Violent Incident

In a recent development, North Carolina’s Insurance Commissioner, Mike Causey, has reported the arrest of 46-year-old Jason Vance Ledford from Newton. Ledford, who works as a bail bondsman, is facing several charges, including a felony for attempting to discharge a weapon into an occupied vehicle. Additional charges include two misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count for causing injury to personal property.

The charges stem from accusations by special agents of the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division. They allege that Ledford attempted to fire a weapon at a 2011 Subaru Outback, which was occupied by Michelle Miller and Christian Morgan, while it was in motion.

Furthermore, Ledford allegedly used a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee to collide with the vehicle occupied by Miller and Morgan. This act is categorized as an assault on both individuals.

An arrest warrant further details that Ledford pursued Morgan and fired a handgun at him. He is also accused of causing damage to the Subaru Outback during the incident.

The alleged offenses took place on January 29 in Connelly Springs. Following his arrest, Ledford received a secured bond set at $450,000. He is scheduled to appear in Burke County District Court for a hearing on March 3.
