Saras Micro Devices Establishes New HQ and Manufacturing Facility in Chandler, Arizona
In a significant move aimed at bolstering its position within the semiconductor industry, Saras Micro Devices has inaugurated its new headquarters and cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona. This strategic relocation from its former base in Atlanta, Georgia, aligns with the company’s plans to expand its footprint in the high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) sectors. As part of Saras’ strategy, the expansion leverages Arizona’s burgeoning semiconductor ecosystem.
This move is not just a change in geographic location; it is an intentional strategic decision to align our vision with our customers in driving the US semiconductor industry forward,
stated Ron Huemoeller, CEO of Saras Micro Devices. He also expressed gratitude for the support from local authorities, emphasizing the company’s commitment to strengthening the U.S. semiconductor industry.
The Chandler facility represents a substantial investment of over $50 million and covers 33,000 square feet, featuring clean rooms, manufacturing, and administrative spaces. Initially employing around 50 staff, primarily engineers, Saras plans to expand both the facility and workforce by the end of 2025, with the site set to grow to 43,000 square feet, including a 13,000-square-foot cleanroom.
The facility’s location offers strategic advantages, being in close proximity to key partners in the semiconductor industry and benefiting from Arizona’s cost-efficient operations and talent development initiatives. This positions Saras to contribute significantly to the local and national semiconductor landscape.
We are excited Saras Micro Devices has selected Arizona for its new headquarters,
remarked Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. She highlighted the impact of the new facility in promoting semiconductor innovation and enhancing Arizona’s reputation as a prime location for advanced semiconductor activities.
Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, added, This HQ relocation allows Saras Micro Devices to address present needs of the market while strengthening its ability to develop technology for the future.
He pointed out the benefits of Saras’ innovative approaches in integrated power delivery for semiconductor devices using AI and ML.
Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke expressed enthusiasm about the expansion of the semiconductor supply chain within the city, stating, The City of Chandler is thrilled to further expand our semiconductor supply chain industry and bring another technology headquarters to our community with the addition of Saras Micro Devices.
He noted Chandler’s favorable conditions for such projects, including its central location and supportive business environment.
