New Healthcare Facility to Boost Lake Havasu City with $20 Million Investment
In a significant development for Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Community Health Development Partners (CHDP) has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center. This $20 million investment is poised to create over 100 jobs, addressing healthcare access challenges in rural and underserved areas.
Scheduled to become operational by Fall 2024, the Lake Havasu Community Health Center will not only serve the local population but also extend its services to surrounding communities. The 17,063-square-foot facility will provide affordable surgical care and advanced medical imaging services. It will feature four operating rooms, two procedure rooms, a catheterization lab, and 14 pre- and post-recovery beds. In addition, an adjacent 27,717-square-foot space will be transformed into a medical office building with exam and procedure rooms, alongside community space.
We’re thrilled to establish this new health option for the people of Lake Havasu City,
expressed Jarret Portz, CEO of Community Health Development Partners. We know what a difference healthcare can make in people’s lives, and the importance of receiving care close to home.
Portz also expressed gratitude towards the city of Lake Havasu and the Arizona Commerce Authority for their support in this venture.
Lake Havasu CHC plans to offer specialty surgery services, complemented by free health and wellness programming and referral services through its partnership with the Community Health Development Foundation, CHDP’s nonprofit arm. This initiative will encompass health screenings, wellness classes, health education, and a meeting space for an advisory board composed of local patients.
Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, remarked, We’re grateful to work with Community Health Development Partners to bring the company’s first health center in Arizona to Lake Havasu City, where it will have a tremendous impact.
She highlighted the facility’s role in providing greater access to quality medical options without the need for extensive travel, while also fostering economic growth.
Mayor Cal Sheehy of Lake Havasu City welcomed the initiative, stating, Lake Havasu City is excited to welcome Community Health Development Partners to our community. We value the investment Community Health Development Partners is making in our community and are grateful that they chose to invest in Lake Havasu City.
As CHDP expands its footprint, the Lake Havasu center will join other flagship facilities, such as the Elko Community Health Center in Nevada, which opened in March 2023, and another upcoming center in Pahrump, Nevada. These centers aim to provide rural communities with access to specialized and surgical care, ensuring healthcare needs are met close to home.
