Campus Adjustments Following SBS West Closure

With the recent closure of SBS West, significant changes have been made to ensure that campus operations continue smoothly. Offices, faculty, and student services affected by the closure have been relocated, maintaining their availability to students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Access to the SBS West building is now restricted.

Department Relocations Following SBS West Closure

The shutdown of SBS West impacted six departments and service units, each of which has successfully moved to a new location and remains fully functional.

Details on Department Moves

The School of Social Work has relocated to the Communication building (16), with its office now situated on the third floor.

The Geography, Planning and Recreation department has moved to Biology (21) and Physical Sciences (19), with the main office on the first floor of the Biology building.

The Social Transformation department is now housed in South Academic Services (SAS) (60), sharing the fourth floor with Psychological Sciences.

Applied Indigenous Studies has also moved to South Academic Services (SAS) (60) on the fourth floor alongside Psychological Sciences.

The Center for Service and Volunteerism can now be found on the first floor of Sechrist Hall (42), next to the Lumberjack CARE Center.

University Advising has been relocated to the Gateway Student Success Center (43) and the Learning Resource Center (LRC) (61).

On the Flagstaff Mountain Campus, University Advising has streamlined services into two main Advising Hub locations. This reorganization aims to simplify access to advising resources while providing flexible appointment options and comprehensive access to advising teams. Classroom and Faculty Office Changes

All classes previously held in SBS West have been reassigned to other classrooms throughout the campus. Students should consult the class schedule for updated location information.

Faculty offices have also been relocated. For specific details, please refer to the NAU directory or directly contact the faculty members involved.
