Extension Extra’s Parenting Hour

Parenting Series
Guiding Principles for Highly Successful Parenting
This five-week series is designed for parents seeking improved cooperation from their children. Topics include routines, emotional control, discipline, and assertive parenting. Attendance certificates and MIRegistry Credit are available.
The Parent Talk System
This six-week series focuses on improving communication with children. Topics cover unwanted behavior, limits, consequences, feedback, and independence. Attendance certificates and MIRegistry Credit are available.

Building Early Emotional Skills
Address common early childhood challenges like biting and tantrums through this four-week series. This program helps caregivers understand and support social-emotional development in children aged 0-3. Attendance certificates and MIRegistry Credit are available.

Working Together to Develop Early Literacy Skills
In-Person Workshop: Including All of Us
This intensive training explores diversity, equity, and inclusion in early childhood. By focusing on anti-bias education, participants learn to create equitable environments for children. This free program is six hours and approved by the MiRegistry system.

Infant Safety
In collaboration with the Livingston County Child Abuse Prevention Council, MSU Extension offers a course on infant safety, addressing safe sleep, handling crying, and safe transportation. Certificates and MIRegistry Credit are available.
