N.C. DMV to Reopen License Plate Agency in Greenville on July 15

GREENVILLE – Residents of Greenville can once again access local vehicle registration services with the reopening of the license plate agency (LPA) on July 15. This comes after the previous facility closed on May 2 when the operator’s contract expired.

The new agency, under the management of Jerry Castelloe, will resume operations at the familiar location of 2462 Stantonsburg Rd. in the Stanton Square Shopping Center. The office will welcome visitors Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except during state holidays.

In North Carolina, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) oversees 125 license plate agencies, although these agencies are typically managed by private parties or local government entities.

LPAs provide essential services such as vehicle registration, title transactions, and license plate renewals. They also handle replacement tags, handicap placards, and duplicate registration requests. For those who prefer online services, tasks like property tax payments and registration renewals can be conveniently conducted at ncdmv.gov.
