Motorists in Huntersville should prepare for changes as the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is set to close the ramp from I-77 South to Gilead Road. This closure is part of an extensive $30.8 million initiative aimed at transforming the current interchange into a diverging diamond interchange.

The scheduled closure will take place from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, providing a safe environment for crews to conduct paving work on the exit ramp.

To navigate around the closure, drivers are advised to use I-77 South to exit 18 (Harris Boulevard), cross over the highway, and then proceed onto I-77 North to reach exit 23.
